Boucle de ceinturon d'officier d'infanterie Français modèle 1845 Honneur et Patrie en laiton.
Cette boucle représente le "Génie de la France" créé par Eugène Lami (1800 - 1890), peintre remarqué par le roi de France Louis-Philippe (1773 - 1850), pour ses lithographies sur les uniformes de l'armée Française.
Ces boucles ornaient les ceinturons des officiers à partir de 1845 comme le montre la 4ème photo : portrait peint par Charles Gleyre en 1856 représentant Edmond Fournier Lieutenant au 96e régiment d'infanterie, tué le 8 septembre 1856 à Sébastopol.
Honneur et Patrie est la devise de la Légion d'honneur (décoration créée par Napoléon Bonaparte en 1802).
Cette boucle comporte au dos (3ème photo) les inscriptions :
AM & Cie
PARIS
Le côté supérieur droit de cette boucle est légèrement courbé, très certainement dû à son usage.
