En 1997, le fanion identifiant les voitures du 50ème Festival International du Film de Cannes arborait une palme au chiffre rond du demi-siècle d'existence du Festival International du Film de Cannes. Les archives de ce fanion sont rares mais on peut l'apercevoir flottant au vent sur une voiture du cortège de Michael Jackson présent au 50ème Festival International du Film de Cannes dans une vidéo dédiée à la star (4ème photo).

This pennant made of resistant fabric was placed on the right side of a vehicle reserved for the stars. It is composed of 2 identical emblems sewn back to back and still imprinted with a few small stains due to dirt during its use at the time.
