Sujet religieux de voyage, représentant Frère Antoine tenant l'enfant Jésus, des années 1900. Le sujet et son étui d'origine sont en métal.
Fernando Martins de Bulhoes (1195 - 1231), né à Lisbonne au Portugal et mort en Italie, est devenu prêtre franciscain Frère Antoine. Il a été canonisé en 1232 par le Pape Grégoire IX en raison de la quarantaine de guérisons apportées à ses fidèles suite à ses prêches. Une basilique, où les fidèles affluent toujours, lui a été dédiée à Padoue.
A cette époque, les fidèles voyageaient avec leurs Saints et ces petits sujets protégés dans leurs étuis les accompagnaient.

Fernando Martins de Bulhoes (1195 - 1231), born in Lisbon, Portugal and died in Italy, became a Franciscan priest Brother Anthony. He was canonized in 1232 by Pope Gregory IX because of the forty or so healings brought to his faithful following his preaching. A basilica, to which the faithful still flock, was dedicated to him in Padua.
